Dr. Greenwell
Dr. Kimberly Greenwell was born and raised in Radcliff, KY, located near Fort Knox, where her father served in the Army. After attending the University of Louisville with a partial scholarship obtained through the Air Force ROTC, Kim’s excellent scores in chemistry and biology helped her gain acceptance to dental school after only three years at Louisville.
Following graduation from the University of Louisville Dental School in May 2002, Dr. Greenwell continued her education in a year-long General Practice Residency program through Indiana University. She gained a good perspective on the role of dental health in the overall health care needs of an individual by working closely with other residents in different medical fields at clinics and hospitals. During her residency program she met her future husband, Chuck Greenwell, who she married in December 2003.
After their wedding, the Greenwells moved back to Louisville, where Dr. Greenwell spent time in private practice and also worked in a public health clinic. Her desire to advance her skills in dentistry led her to pursue other practice opportunities. With the goal of working with and learning from an experienced Christian dentist, she contacted the Christian Medical Dental Associations. They told her about Dr. Griffin, a member of their Dental Advisory Board.
After a few informative and positive phone “interviews” with Dr. Griffin, Dr. Greenwell and her husband made the trip to Newport News to meet with him and his staff. The meeting went very well, and Dr. Griffin expressed confidence that she would provide the high quality level of care he expects from everyone in his office.
“I was very impressed by the positive attitude of the entire dental team, the individualized care and concern shown for the patients, the state-of-the-art digital technology and the excellent quality of dental care being provided,” says Dr. Greenwell. “The Christian ideals that this practice was built upon are the same ideals that are important to me in my life and work. I feel like I belong here,” she adds.
